Pledges To Be a True Conservative For the 6th District.

HOOVER, AL, October 05, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ — Prominent Alabama businessman and Republican, Gerrick Wilkins announces that he will be running for Alabama’s 6th Congressional District. Wilkins pledged if elected to be a true conservative and bring Alabama solutions and values to the U.S. House. He noted that America is at a crossroads and a strong conservative vision is needed to change the nation’s current trajectory and that he will be able to bring that vision to the House. Wilkins is running as a strong fiscal conservative advocating a Balanced Budget Amendment and as a true reformer calling for congressional term limits. He observed that for too many, including the incumbent, serving in Congress has become a fulltime job and not the citizen politician that the founding fathers envisioned, and that President Ronald Reagan advocated. Wilkins is calling for the abolishment of the federal Department of Education, with its duties being returned to the states and local communities where education belongs. He pledges to fight against the woke indoctrination that we are seeing nationally in public schools and be a staunch advocate for parental rights and school choice.

“It is with deep humility and responsibility that I enter the race for Alabama’s 6th District,” said Gerrick Wilkins. “In 1964, Ronald Reagan said that our nation had reached a time of choosing, if that was true then it is especially true today.

“Like President Reagan, I believe both Alabama’s and our nation’s best days lie ahead of us,” continued Wilkins. “Yet we can not achieve this greatness with our current trajectory. We must change course and that means changing representation in Washington.

“Daily we see the dysfunction in Washington, D.C. where career politicians have made the halls of Congress, a lobbyist’s paradise,” continued Wilkins. “This must end. That is why I am supporting term limits for Congress and will work tirelessly to see that it enacted. Only with term limits will we be able to drain the swamp.

“Economically, the failed policies of Joe Biden and career politicians are bankrupting our nation and future. This must end. That is why I am supporting a Balanced Budget Amendment. If families must balance their budget, so must the federal government,” continued Wilkins.

“Education is supposed to unlock the potential of every child and put them on the path for a great future. Sadly, our education system has become an indoctrination center for the far left and its woke agenda. That is why we must abolish the federal Department of Education, return education to the states and local communities, and allow parental choice in education decisions,” stated Wilkins.

“Together we can bring commonsense Alabama values and solutions to Congress,” concluded Wilkins. “I pledge in Congress to be the representative of the 6th District and not D.C. insiders.”

Gerrick is a loving husband to his incredible wife of 24 years, Carol, and a devoted father to their amazing daughter, Hanna. Gerrick and his family moved to Alabama in 2006 and have lived in Vestavia Hills since 2014. He attended Pensacola Christian College, where he met his wife and earned a bachelor’s degree in theology from Liberty University. Gerrick has been a strong proponent of lifelong learning, and during his professional career, he returned and earned a master’s in business administration from Samford University.
